New Business

Website
The club reimbursed $45 to Michael Stoy for getting our Garden Club up and running on a server. Our domain address is begardenclub.org. Check it out. Looks great. Special Thanks to Mike and Sandy.

Everyone
If you want to have some photos of your home garden posted on the site you can send them to Sandra.j.Stoy@boeing.com and Mike will format them and post them on the site. Anyone who wants to have their garden posted should also let Mike know how they want the title to read (ie. Michael & Sandra Stoy, Mike & Sandy Stoy, etc.) and whether they have a personal home page with more photos you want Mike to link to. There will be a limit of 6 photos per person.

Gift Cards
It was voted that the Club would purchase multi-use gift cards. The first card, however, will be a Trader Joe’s card for $25. This will be given to Kari Black

Noxious Weeks
There was a suggestion to have the Snohomish Conservation District come and talk to us. Don Woods to check this out.

Action Item
Barb and Angela to do a projected budget for 2006 by June 23rd meeting. This was brought about due to the balance in our savings account. We need to look at the projected budget before spending.

Sharetime
Angela brought a magazine article in May 2005 issue of Better Homes and Gardens. The article was about Jeff and Mindy Pettits. Their home is in our area. Angela will contact them to see if we can arrange a tour. Along with the tour, our Club could visit the antiques in Snohomish

Master Gardeners
Snohomish County master gardeners will be available to answer questions at the Washington State University Extension office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, through Sept. 29, at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett

Thanks Angela Hoard, for sending us
TIPS from "sunset"

Annuals
In sunny spots, set out transplants of cosmos, geraniums, marigolds, petunias, sweet alyssum. In light shade, plant begonias, coleus, impatiens and violas.

Herbs
In summer beds, plant seedlings of annual kinds including basil, cilantro and parsley. Plant perennial's like chives, oregano, rosemary and thyme in permanents beds; put mint in containers to keep in under control.

Perennials
In the sun plant black eye Susan, coreopsis, lupine, poppies and shasta daisies. In the shade go with astilbe, bleeding heart, columbine, ferns and lady's mantle and sweet woodruff.

Vegetables
Get beans, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, melons, peppers, squash, and tomatoes into the ground.

Summer bulbs
Put callas and cannas in damp spots; plant dahlias and gladiolus where soil drainage is good. All like full sun.
